Overseeing the running of a joinery workshop, managing the best use of labour and materials, allocating work and ensuring production to plan whilst supporting the joiners work. Ensuring a culture of right first time, efficient production and continuous improvement.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Manage work to maximize on the skills and competence of the workforce and meet agreed completion requirements.
Maintain the quality control of materials and products within the workshop.
Coordinate work to lists and ensure allocation of staff to meet programmed deadlines, targets and changes etc.
Work with development teams to ensure that designs are productionised, suggesting change where needed
Maintain a clean, orderly workshop environment with a focus on Health and Safety
Ensure all machinery is maintained and appropriate training for staff is provided
Work with HR to manage staff including performance, sickness monitoring, appraisals, etc
5 years minimum experience in a timber furniture manufacturing environment
Experience in both traditional joinery and a flat panel mass production environment preferable
3 years minimum experience of managing teams
Knowledge of CNC programming advantageous
An in depth understanding of CNC machines, edgebanding, lamination and veneering, joinery workshop machinery and spray lacquering
3 Years bench joinery experience
